Scheme Development
The development of this scheme has been in accordance with a three stage process defined in the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges, with its current status through this process illustrated in the Scheme Development Process diagram below.
As part of the statutory procedures process, the Department and its consultants AECOM have completed an Environmental Impact Assessment of the scheme, with an associated Non-Technical Summary of its findings available below.

Public Consultation
Formal public consultation on the scheme has ended following the completion of the Public Inquiry. The Department has published its Notice to Proceed with the scheme and has identified how it will further engage with local communities in line with the Inspector’s recommendations in its published Departmental Statement.
